蘇曼殊，一代奇人、奇僧、奇作家。

他有著奇怪的出生、童年、宗教生活、戀愛，甚至是死因。他的生命雖短，但是他活了普通人幾輩子都難以企及的豐富生命。

他既是詩人，又是小說家，亦會作畫，更被評為民初三大翻譯家之一。更是因為他的「奇」，曼殊為研究他的人留下了一個又一個的謎團。在現存的不同說法之間，其差異之大，若把研究對象的名字抹去，實難叫人相信被論述的為同一人或同一部作品。

有見及此，此書以文藝心理學爲基本取向，運用心理學理論嘗試重新分析及評價蘇曼殊其人及其文。以便藉此為學界清理多年的迷霧，並讓讀者多一點了解這位奇怪的孤僧。
