Dr. Shan Huang earned her PhD in Chinese Studies and Sociology from King’s College London. Her research primarily investigates workers and economic transformations in contemporary China. Prior to her current appointment, Dr.Huang conducted postdoctoral research at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, focusing on cross-border cooperation between Hong Kong and Mainland China. Her current research interests include the digital economy and platform-based labour, with a particular emphasis on emerging labour regimes and new forms of precarity in China.
